So far my experience in
has been going well. I'm really happy with the work I've turned out and pleased with the story, and after having received my opponent for next round, Kila-T-E
, I'm still pleased with the story! Unfortunately for everyone, this round, I'll be less pleased with the quality of my work.
We were given a very short deadline for Episode Four--The official deadline as of this moment is October 28. Unfortunately, given the length of my story (almost 60 pages, guys!), I will not be able to make this deadline with my usual full-color digivolution pages, inked and grayscaled pages and reasonably complete backgrounds. In fact, given the fact that my work has also given me a big new project due on October 31, I am not sure whether I will be able to make this deadline with anything more than stick figures this time around.
If you've read this far, you're obviously fairly invested in watching me make comics, so I have a proposition
for you. I will still be attempting to finish this round in a way that delivers the judges the story--my pages are all paneled and texted right now--but I am unwilling to let art of the quality that it will be necessary for me to deliver into the public eye. That means that you likely won't see new Digimon comics from me for a long time, especially if I somehow manage to pull off a win and have to advance in the tournament--I'm not going to give you Episode Five before you've seen Episode Four, but I obviously won't have time to polish Episode Four to a satisfactory standard if I'm working on Episode Five! What's my proposition, then?
Working on stuff that almost nobody will get to see really bums me out. I like to know that people enjoy my work. It keeps me motivated. In short, I need at least some people to know what I'm doing and give me feedback so that I can stay on track! So: If you like my story, don't mind that these comics will be reaaaally sketchy, and want to see my latest progress before everybody else, post in the comments below telling me that you'd be interested. I'll pick three people and send those people periodic updates with links to st.ashed pages of my round. What's the catch? The catch is that you have to COMMENT at least every three pages, letting me know what you think. I don't care about faves, but I want to know how my story is making you feel, what you feel about the characters, and where you expect things to go! If you think you can do that, go ahead and post.
Obviously, if I catch wind of everyone spreading the links to or images of my comics around the Internet--I'm preeeetty sure this won't happen, given that I'm not at all popular, but eh, have to say it just in case--all this is off the table.
So, if you're interested in getting sketchy- but up-to-the-minute progress on my next Digimon episode, let me know below, and I'll pick three people to send my links to.
Thanks for your time and support,
